RenovaBR leaders are nominated for the 2024 Congresso em Foco Award

Eight parliamentarians trained by RenovaBR were nominated in the 'Best in the Chamber' and 'Best in the Senate' category at the 2024 Congress in Focus Award. Among the nominees are Gisela Simona (UB-MT), Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP), Camila Jara ( PT-MS), Samuel Viana (Republicanos-MG), Pedro Aihara (PRD-MG), Fernando Marangoni (UB-SP) and Duarte Junior (PSB-MA). Furthermore, senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE) was also nominated in the Best in the Senate category. The nominations highlight the excellence in the work of these leaders and their commitment to the effective and transparent representation of the Brazilian population.

Created in 2006, the Congress in Focus Award aims to combat anti-politics, promoting the value of democratic politics and the importance of parliamentary action. The award is a recognition of the efforts of parliamentarians who are dedicated to strengthening democracy and acting for the benefit of citizens.

Voting remains open until July 31st, the winners will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for August 29th. During this period, the positions of nominees may change. Until the second bulletin, more than 560 thousand votes were validated after an internal audit by Congresso em Foco and an external audit carried out by the National Association of Federal Criminal Experts (APCF).

The 25 deputies and 15 senators with the most votes online will be awarded. In addition, the five parliamentarians with the most votes in each geographic region will also be recognized.

In addition to public voting on the internet, the winners will also be chosen by a specialized jury and a group of 25 journalists who cover the Congress. The judges will nominate the winners of the “Best in the Chamber” and “Best in the Senate” categories, as well as three special categories: Industry Support, sponsored by the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), Climate and Sustainability, supported by the Democracy and Sustainability Institute (IDS), and Smart Cities, offered by Ibrachina.

The nominations of Gisela Simona, Tabata Amaral, Camila Jara, Fernando Marangoni, Alessandro Vieira, Samuel Viana and Pedro Aihara for the Congresso em Foco Award are a testimony to the positive impact of the leaders trained by RenovaBR. These parliamentarians exemplify the values of integrity, commitment and innovation that the organization seeks to promote, reaffirming the importance of training leaders committed to the political transformation of Brazil.
