Transforming realities through education and social development has always been more than an idea for Carlos, RBR Alumni and founder of Munda\u00fa World Network<\/a>. Born and raised in the Vergel do Lago community in Macei\u00f3 (AL), he saw firsthand the impacts of social vulnerability and therefore sees education as a way to change this scenario.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"One day I said that neighborhood would be one of the most innovative and entrepreneurial in Alagoas. Ten years later, after overcoming countless challenges, I was able to deliver on that vision," he says. This vision arose from a social project that, gaining momentum over time through recognition and awards, became an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) operating in various areas, such as education, technology, income generation, and community leadership development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education as a basis for reducing inequalities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With over 20,000 people directly impacted in Macei\u00f3 and 15 other municipalities in Alagoas, the Munda\u00fa Mundo Network was born from Carlos's personal story and his desire to transform Vergel do Lago. Amidst a region marked by vulnerabilities such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, and alcoholism, the alumni saw potential for innovation and opportunities. What began as a small community project has become a leading organization in the fight against social inequalities in Alagoas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aiming to promote human and social development through education, income generation, and community strengthening, the NGO works to implement technologies, offer professional training, and encourage entrepreneurship to stimulate the creation of educational projects for children, youth, and adults. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impact is significant. Among the programs offered is Cozinha Escola, based on productive inclusion, which provides training for the job market and encourages social enterprises. Furthermore, there are strategic partnerships with organizations such as Gerando Falc\u00f5es and training for community leaders capable of organizing to demand rights and promote local transformations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the strongest pillars of our work is education, which Carlos considers the most powerful tool for transforming realities. "Education empowers, gives strength, and fosters critical thinking. Often, vulnerable communities are misled precisely by the lack of it," he states. According to him, it is essential that education be a priority in a democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the Network is recognized for its defense of human rights, work that has earned Carlos state and national awards. "These recognitions validate work that is exhaustive and often invisible. They open doors and scale the impact," he explains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carlos's work has earned him important awards, such as the Alagoas Human Rights Award and the title of VOA (Ambev) Social Leader, as well as invitations to share his experience in various states. From the third sector to public management<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Carlos's career also includes experience in public administration as the Municipal Secretary of Social Assistance and Housing. For him, this experience was crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Public management requires technical competence and political skill. I understood how the public sector can scale social policies, something that complements the work of the third sector," he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Challenges in innovation and expansion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Among the sector's challenges, Carlos highlights the integration of education into public policies in the most vulnerable areas. For him, this progress depends on the empowerment of civil society and the appreciation of local knowledge. "The grassroots also offer many solutions. We need to strengthen technical skills without ignoring the knowledge that comes from the community. And, above all, invest in political education, one of the great failings of our democracy," he states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With already solid results, the Munda\u00fa Mundo Network has more plans. "We want to reach all 102 municipalities in Alagoas, expanding education programs, income generation, and social enterprises. Our dream is to make Alagoas the most innovative and entrepreneurial state in Brazil," it projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the coming years, Carlos sees himself developing new leaders. "I want to prepare people to work in the region, whether in the nonprofit sector or in public administration, as long as they have the talent and competence.
