In the clothing sector, for example, we went from 160 direct jobs to 500, a significant growth for our city,\u201d he explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, Fernando is leading the construction of the 'Fashion City', an industrial events park that will be officially opened in 2025 and promises to further intensify the region's economic growth. Acari's education sector has stood out over the years. Before the pandemic, the city was already among the best in the state in the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB), and remains the third best in Rio Grande do Norte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur commitment to literacy and the quality of public schools is non-negotiable. We believe that a better city is built through the knowledge and appreciation of our educators,\u201d highlights Fernando.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the local culture is a heritage that he strives to preserve. One of the most inspiring projects of his administration is 'Music in Schools', which encourages children and teenagers to participate in the traditional Acari philharmonic band. \u201cInstrumental music is part of the city's identity, present in festive and solemn moments. Bringing young people to this experience strengthens the culture and creates a link between the past and the future\u201d, he explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even in a small municipality, management faces bureaucratic and financial challenges. Fernando advocates a fairer redistribution of public resources and the decentralization of responsibilities. \u201cMunicipalities need to be strengthened. The tax pie needs to be better distributed so that we can meet the numerous obligations imposed on us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he emphasizes that administrative efficiency can compensate for some of these difficulties. \u201cWe have been working to make administration more agile and efficient, without losing the quality of service to the population, especially in health and social assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fernando Bezerra was part of the first RenovaBR training class in 2018 and considers the program a turning point in his political career. \u201cThe training made me see new possibilities, plan better and seek out successful experiences in other cities. I learned that responsibility and commitment are the basis of good public management.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Continuous training has been a differentiator in his way of governing, allowing him to structure innovative and efficient public policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For him, governing is not just about offering quality public services, but also encouraging citizen participation. \u201cI would like my administration to leave a legacy of collective responsibility. We are all responsible for the well-being of our city. The government has an essential role, but society also needs to get involved through associations, entrepreneurship and civil organization.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His goal is to strengthen this community vision, where the development of Acari is a joint effort between the government and citizens. \u201cThe greatest lesson I can leave is that, yes, it is possible to transform the city and improve people\u2019s quality of life. But this only happens when we work together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
