The meeting, entitled \u201cConversation with RBR Councilors: Women\u2019s Attorney\u2019s Office in the Chamber\u201d, brought together leaders committed to expanding the role of municipal legislatures in defending women\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Councilwoman Mariana Calsa, reelected in Limeira (SP) for a second term, was one of the highlights of the event. In her report, she presented the initiatives adopted by the local Special Prosecutor's Office for Women, whose work includes the preparation of awareness-raising booklets, holding debate forums and actions in schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWithout resources, we cannot provide training or produce informational materials. It is essential that the Chambers allocate specific funds for this work,\u201d stated Mariana, reinforcing the need for budgetary provision so that the projects can get off the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants highlighted the importance of partnerships with agencies such as the Legislative Assembly of S\u00e3o Paulo (Alesp) and the Federal Senate, which can provide institutional support and materials for distribution. According to Mariana Calsa, the relationship with these agencies was crucial to give visibility to cases of political gender-based violence in Limeira, and served as an example of how Public Prosecutors' Offices can gain strength when they have intermunicipal, state and federal support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
