With this in mind, RenovaBR, in partnership with Legisla Brasil, organized the post-election trail “Paths in the Legislature: I lost the election, what now?”. The event aimed to support candidates who were not victorious in the last election, but who wish to continue contributing to the public sector and explore new opportunities for impact.

The meeting addressed the first steps for those seeking to engage in new fronts, beyond the electoral context. The goal was to show that, even without holding an elected office, it is possible to transform society, whether through working in secretariats, technical positions or other roles within public administration. During the event, participants were able to hear inspiring experiences from leaders who also face challenges in their first steps in politics. Rayssa Tomaz, Communications Coordinator for the Green Party (PV), shared her story of running for her first election: “I was 29 years old and was considered just an advisor. My main goal was to be recognized as a political leader by my group. When I ran for election, even though I didn’t win, I managed to be recognized, and that was a big step,” said Rayssa, encouraging participants to value small achievements.

Gerson Pires, a RenovaBR alumni and chief of staff at the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp), reinforced the importance of respecting time and expectations. “When you leave an election, there is a time of frustration and disillusionment. But there is also a time to recover and envision the next steps. It is essential to be self-critical, identify where you got it right and where you got it wrong, and understand how to use the votes and visibility achieved to build a space within politics,” he highlighted.

Valneide Nascimento, national secretary of NSB-PSB, also participated in the event and highlighted the courage of all those present: “You have to keep insisting. Maybe it didn’t work out this time, but that doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path. You all left a legacy and gained visibility, and this is a victory that shouldn’t be wasted,” she stressed.

The Post-Election Track is a key opportunity to reposition and prepare leaders for the challenges ahead. This unique program is designed to help you develop key skills, identify new opportunities for action, and connect with our network of leaders, ensuring that your trajectory continues to grow.

The electoral journey brings with it lessons and challenges that go far beyond the results at the polls.
