{"id":5001,"date":"2024-09-26T16:31:55","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T16:31:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/renovabr.org\/?p=5001"},"modified":"2024-09-26T16:31:56","modified_gmt":"2024-09-26T16:31:56","slug":"eleicoes-2024-entenda-o-que-e-permitido-e-proibido-no-dia-da-votacao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/renovabr.org\/en\/eleicoes-2024-entenda-o-que-e-permitido-e-proibido-no-dia-da-votacao\/","title":{"rendered":"2024 Elections: Understand what is allowed and prohibited on voting day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On October 6, the date of the first round of the 2024 Municipal Elections, 155,912,680 voters are eligible to go to the polls to choose representatives for city halls and municipal chambers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the election approaches, the Electoral Court is intensifying its efforts to guide the population on permitted and prohibited conduct on voting day, aiming to guarantee the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What can and cannot be done on voting day?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#039;Cheating&#039; is released to facilitate conscious voting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voters are allowed to take a note with the numbers of the chosen candidates, popularly known as a \u201ccheat sheet\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This practice helps voters remember the numbers correctly when typing them into the electronic ballot box, avoiding errors and speeding up the voting process. The Electoral Court recommends that voters prepare their cheat sheet in advance to help the process flow smoothly and reduce possible queues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It is forbidden to gather with party propaganda clothing or objects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Electoral legislation prohibits the gathering of people wearing clothing, flags, brooches or any materials that identify parties, coalitions or candidates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This restriction aims to prevent practices that could constitute irregular propaganda or coercion of other voters. Collective demonstrations could be interpreted as exit polls, which is illegal. Therefore, it is essential that voters avoid forming groups displaying party symbols on election day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Individual demonstration is allowed with restrictions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the ban on gatherings, voters have the right to individually and silently express their political preferences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is permitted to wear pins, stickers or T-shirts of candidates or parties, as long as there is no distribution of materials or attempt to influence other voters.
