With the 2nd round of the 2024 Municipal Elections approaching, scheduled for this Sunday, October 27, voters across the country are preparing to choose mayors, deputy mayors and councilors in 5,569 Brazilian cities. And, to ensure that no one faces difficulties when voting, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) provides an essential tool: the Voting Simulator.
This is an opportunity to practice and familiarize yourself with the electronic voting machine, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and simply on election day. simulator is available on the TSE portal and allows you to train your choices for the positions in dispute, helping you avoid mistakes when exercising your democratic right.
How the voting simulator works
When accessing the Voting Simulator, you can choose between simulating the municipal elections process, which is the case this year, or the general elections. For 2024, the focus will be on choosing candidates for councilor, mayor and vice-mayor.
The simulation is very realistic, and every detail is designed to provide an experience that mirrors voting day, except for the fact that the parties and candidates available in the simulator are fictitious. This allows you to practice without pressure, understanding each step of the process.
Step by step how to use the simulator:
- Starting the simulation: When accessing the tool, select the option “Voting in the 1st Round” of the municipal elections. You can choose to activate or not the audio instructions. After that, click on the green “Confirm” button to start voting.
- Vote for councilor: The first position to be chosen is that of councilor. The simulator offers five options of fictitious parties (Sports, Musical Rhythms, Professions, Popular Festivals and Folklore), each with three candidates. Choose your candidate and enter the corresponding number. If you make a mistake, press the “Correct” button and start the selection again. Then, confirm your vote with the green button.
- Vote for mayor and deputy mayor: Next, you will vote for mayor and deputy mayor. Once again, five fictitious party options will be displayed. Select the ticket of your choice, enter the number and confirm.
- Blank or null vote: If you do not have a preference for any candidate, you can vote blank by pressing the “Blank” key and then “Confirm”. To void your vote, enter a number that does not correspond to any candidate and confirm.
Repetition and error correction
The great advantage of the Voting Simulator is that it allows you to repeat the process as many times as you want. At the end of each simulation, you can click on “New simulation” and start over, perfecting your choices and ensuring that, on election day, everything goes smoothly.
