On Wednesday (21), political leaders from different regions of Brazil gathered in Brasília for a meeting promoted by RenovaBR. The event, which brought together more than 60 participants including federal deputies, mayors, deputy mayors and councilors, had as its main focus the strengthening of dialogue between leaders and the discussion of challenges and solutions for public health.

Solutions for public health

More than just a get-together, the dinner, which was attended by leaders from all regions of the country, represented another step in the construction of a collaborative network between public actors and expanded the sharing of ideas around solutions for improving health in Brazilian cities through institutional cooperation and access to qualified training. 

One of the highlights of the evening was the panel led by federal deputy and physician Daniel Soranz, also Secretary of Health for Rio de Janeiro. The presentation on the “Challenges, opportunities and solutions to transform health in cities” brought his vast experience in public management focused on improving the health of the population. 

On the occasion, the secretary defended the Unified Health System and the need for a medical team focused on family health. “Often, those who need it the least receive more attention and care than those who need it the most. That is why the family team is so important,” he said.

RenovaBR leaders share their experiences

In addition, Alumni Gisela Simona, Federal Deputy of Cuiabá (MT) and Pedro Aihara, Federal Deputy of Minas Gerais (MG) shared their stories and the impact of the formation of RenovaBR on their respective trajectories. They also recognized the importance of meetings like this for the promotion and sharing of visions among the various leaders who are already in office. 

Federal deputy Gisela Simona shared that when she discovered RenovaBR, she saw the chance to try to enter politics. “I had the opportunity to try again, but with knowledge, drawing up a strategy, planning a campaign. That way we could achieve this dream of participating in Brazilian politics and breaking the bubble,” she concluded. 

RenovaBR and CAMP sign cooperation agreement

To close the meeting, RenovaBR signed a cooperation agreement with CAMP Brasil – Clube Associativo dos Profissionais de Marketing Político – renewing its commitment to the entity for yet another cycle. 

The institutions will collaborate in carrying out classes, courses, mentoring and projects that aim to train politicians committed to ethics, diversity, transparency and evidence-based public policies. 

With the presence of Bruno Hoffman, president of CAMP, the Executive Director of RenovaBR, Rodrigo Cobra, stressed that “the partnership reinforces the commitment to preparing increasingly qualified political leaders who are connected to the real challenges of Brazilian society”.
