RenovaBR celebrates the victories of new leaders elected in the second round of the 2024 municipal elections, reinforcing the positive impact of political renewal in several Brazilian cities. Among those elected are Delegada Gracimeri (MDB), vice-mayor of Serra/ES; Elisa Araújo (PSD), reelected mayor of Uberaba/MG; and Sérgio Victor (Novo), new mayor of Taubaté/SP.
Delegate Gracimeri received 60,48% of the votes, totaling 138,071 votes. Her election is a reflection of her impressive trajectory in defense of women's rights and public safety, issues that guided her campaign and guaranteed popular support. Elisa Araújo, reelected with 55,60% of the votes (86,492 votes), will continue her work recognized for her efficient management and closeness to the population. During her administration in Uberaba, she promoted advances in areas such as education and economic development, which earned her the trust of the population.
Sérgio Victor was elected with 61,98% of the votes (97,950 votes). He stood out for his proposals for social inclusion, cultural development, animal welfare and improvements in health. In addition, his commitment to transparency and citizen participation in Taubaté was also a determining factor in his election.
Final balance of the 2024 municipal elections
Adding the results of the first and second rounds, 365 RenovaBR leaders were elected in the 2024 municipal elections. Of this total, 44 will take office as mayor, 25 as vice mayor, and 296 as councilor. Compared to the 2020 elections, when 153 leaders were elected over the two rounds, RenovaBR more than doubled the number of elected officials, demonstrating the strength and growing relevance of the initiative in the formation of political leaders throughout the country.
The results highlight the potential of leaders who have been through RenovaBR to contribute to political renewal and the strengthening of Brazilian democracy. With representatives elected in different regions of the country, the impact of these leaders is evidenced by their commitment to transparent, inclusive policies focused on the needs of the local population.
